Valentine’s Day is over. Valentine’s day is the day the world celebrates the love and affection between their lover. So what did you do on Valentine’s day? Traffic was bad that evening. I’m sure many of you were stucked in traffic if you were in Petaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur. To make matters worse, we didn’t booked any tables at all. We took our chances at Kin Shui Tei at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and as predicted the restaurant was fully booked. We chose the next nearest restaurant, Waterlily. Lucky for us, we got a table after a short wait at Waterlily. As a glass of Barley Lime is priced at RM6, we ordered a jug at Rm18 which is equivalent to 6 glasses. Also, do remind the waiter to give less ice if you prefer your drink a little bit thicker.
Waterlily‘s Sirlion Steak priced at RM43 did gave a very good visual impression but unfortunately it didn’t taste as good as it looks. Probably this is because, the chef wants to get their customers orders out as fast as they can since it was Valentine’s night. Having said that, this shouldn’t be an excuse for them as customers still expect restaurants to perform at their best (if possible).
Fortunately, Waterlily‘s Nasi Campur which are priced at Rm33 was a good meal. It comprises of a mixed platter of seafood and meats – Grilled sotong, juicy prawns, sate lilit, fish fillet and a choice of beef or chicken rendang are served with rice (cooked together with) sweet potato, kangkung belacan and long beans. I enjoyed it very much.
As for desserts, we ordered Waterlily’s Pisang Bakar at RM13.
Beef soup was serve as Waterlily had to extend our wait as the chef had wrongly prepared the our order. Despite that the beef soup was very full in flavour. The down side of this soup was that it gets very salty towards the end.
If you do not know already, Waterlily, Bumbu Bali and Ole ole Bali restaurants are under the same management. Hence there are many similarities among these restaurants.
