Wong Poh Restaurant at Bukit Mayang Mas, Petaling Jaya

Wong Poh Seafood Restaurant is famous for their crab and seafood dishes. It’s been a while since the last time I had crabs. So, last weekend, we went to Wong Poh. The restaurant was full when we arrive around 7.30pm due to the weekend crowd. We managed to find our table at the air-conditioned area only after about 15 minutes. So the wait wasn’t bad afterall.

We ordered their Cheese and Butter Crabs. This is one of the must-order item here.

The buns doesn’t come together with the crabs and must be ordered separately. The sweet buns are best taken together with the cheese and butter crabs. They both compliments each other really well.

The other style we had was their Century Egg Crab Porridge. If you don’t plan to order rice, just like us, the porridge crab will be a good alternative. It wasn’t that good but at least the porridge is sufficient to fill up the empty gaps in our stomachs.

fried.salted.egg.squid

Fried Salted Egg Squid was quite good. Very crunchy and salty. Note that, you must finish this as soon as possible if you are ordering this, as it gets a bit rubbery after a while.

Crabs are not too difficult to eat provided that you are patient enough. I wasn’t that patient, and I got tired after a while. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I was tired of the taste but I was tired in having to pry open the crab shells. And in almost every bite I had these sharp edge that I had to avoid. Nevertheless, the crabs at Wong Poh Restaurant was good.
